Warehouse Assistant and Delivery Driver

We're looking for a Warehouse Assistant and Delivery Driver that will be involved in the overall 
daily warehouse operations, ensuring inventory is processed, picked, received, organized, and stored and orders are packaged and prepared for delivery. The delivery driver will also be responsible to the delivery and pick up of parts to local vendors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Check and inspect goods received against purchase orders and packing slips, ensuring they are of accurate quantity, type, and that the quality of goods received is acceptable.

  • Thoroughly inspect the condition of products and parts received, clearly noting any damage, shortage or overage following established procedures.

  • Maintain current and accurate receiving purchase order files according to established procedure.

  • Prepare and pack outgoing products of finished goods for shipment using most efficient packing materials to ensure damage-free delivery and adhere to all guidelines and limitations set by carrier.

  • Select and prepare unfinished parts for shipment to company vendors.

  • Kit parts for final assembly.

  • Be responsible for keeping a clean and safe working environment and optimizing space utilization.

  • Ensure workspace is free of debris and remove safety hazards from aisles.

  • Move inventory and materials across facilities, sort, organize and store stock safely in the designated location.

  • Operate heavy machinery like forklifts to move or store inventory.

  • Store surplus assembled parts safely in their correct locations.

  • Ensure all parts are labeled and identified correctly.

  • Perform inventory cycle counts as required.

  • Load and unload trucks, vans and other vehicles.

  • Make sure that all inventory processes are completed on the same day.

  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • "G" License and Clean Drivers Abstract Required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent with minimum 6 months experience in a warehouse environment.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Good computer skills, able to enter data into the company system.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment independently as well as part of a team.

  • Willing to work overtime at short notice.

  • Ability to lift heavy objects.

  • Current Forklift License an asset.

Customer Service Representative / Customer Service Account Manager

Beta-Calco is seeking a dynamic Customer Service Account Manager to join its team. The CSAM is primarily responsible for providing superior customer service for Beta Calco’s sales representative and Regional Sales Managers (RSM) to support and enhance Beta-Calco’s brand. This includes following established policies and procedures, using problem-solving techniques to solve root causes of problems, and providing high-quality customer satisfaction. The CSAM is the point of contact for customer orders, inquiries, complaints and compliments and works as a liaison between sales reps, RSMs, and internal staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Process customer orders within 24 hours of approval and send order confirmations.

  • Process order changes according to established company policies and procedures.

  • Provide timely and accurate information in support of customer order status and product performance inquiries from Reps and RSMs.

  • Perform courtesy calls to ensure previous requests and/or problems were resolved satisfactorily.

  • Build, strengthen and maintain positive business relationships by establishing rapport with Reps. Gain an understanding of customers’ requirements and obtain customer feedback to disseminate throughout the Company.

  • Manage the distribution and storage of samples required by RSMs.

  • Maintain in-depth working knowledge of the company’s products, systems and processes and stay up to date with any product or system changes or newly introduced products.

  • Partner with Marketing, Manufacturing, Production, Engineering and Shipping to fulfill and exceed customers’ expectations. Work closely with all departments to understand issues and limitations that may compromise lead times or limit product offering. Communicate information effectively to RSMs or Reps.

  • Monitor production order status and schedules and expedite delivery per customer requests, notify agents of any delays.

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing set goals as determined by your Supervisor.

  • Be capable of reading, understanding, explaining, and responding to customer contract Terms and Conditions and other Order/Contract attachments.

  • Provide timely feedback to the company regarding service failures or customers concerns and manage RMA’s for re-work.

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of company website features to provide assistance to RSMs and Reps.

  • Provide Reps with product solutions or alternatives within the scope of their project and within their budgeting requirements.

  • Investigate warranty issues and claims. Maintain detailed warranty files for documentation.

  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

  • When required provide back-up to the Inside Sales Manager with providing product pricing and quotes to RSMs and Reps.

  • Inform the accounting department of new customers that require setting up and/or credit checks.
 
Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Minimum College diploma or University degree.

  • Two or more years experience in Customer Service, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

  • Working knowledge of the lighting industry is an asset.

  • Excellent telephone and email etiquette.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills.

  • Basic Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, percentages and volume. Apply concepts of basic arithmetic.

  • Ability to work under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

  • High level of proficiency with Google programs and Excel.

Junior Purchaser

Beta-Calco is looking for a Junior Purchaser that will be involved in the overall company day-to-day 
operations, by working with our suppliers, reviewing prices and quality of supplies while ensuring optimal stock levels are kept. The purchasing agent will be highly motivated, detail oriented and have a strong understanding of supply chain procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
 
  • Enter purchase orders and create subcontract work orders. Ensure accuracy in the creation of all purchase orders.

  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery. Inform production of requirement delays or issues as soon as possible.

  • Monitor stock levels and verify purchase requisitions. Maintain inventory levels required for production, considering vendor lead-times.

  • Enter purchase orders and create subcontract work orders. Ensure accuracy in the creation of all purchase orders.

  • Provide purchasing planning and control information by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

  • Search available products to find the best combination of quality, price, and delivery.

  • Research potential vendors.

  • Compare and evaluate offers from various suppliers.

  • Negotiate policies and contracts with various suppliers.

  • Maintain accuracy of vendor/mfg part numbers consulting with
    Engineering as 
    needed.

  • Ensure follow up and closure of issues on non-conformance items.

  • Solve day-to-day cost/quality/scheduling issues with suppliers.

  • Adjust reorder levels based on projected production requirements and vendor performance.

  • Review quality of purchased products. Ensure all production requirements are met.

  • Identify damaged or defective goods and work out an alternative solution with the supplier.
  • Enter order details (e.g. vendors, quantities, prices) into internal databases.

  • Maintain updated records of purchased products, delivery information and invoices.

  • Optimize supply chain based on vendor performance.

  • Prepare reports on purchases, including cost analyses.

  • Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.

  • Attend various trade shows, exhibitions, supplier plants, and vendor interviews to stay informed about changes and advancements in the industry.

  • Coordinate with warehouse staff to ensure proper storage.

  • Effectively interact cross-functionally with Engineering, Production and Finance.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve external & internal processes.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • The Purchaser will have proven work experience of 2+ years in a purchasing role.

  • Hands-on experience with ERP/MRP software (Infor – Cloud site Industrial an asset).

  • Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating and liaising with vendors).

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and persuasion skills.

  • Effective relationship building skills.

  • Understanding of supply chain procedures.

  • MS Office experience including Word, Excel. Use of Google Cloud services such as Gmail and Google Docs.

  • Solid analytical skills, with the ability to conduct cost analyses.

  • BSc in Logistics, Business Administration, SCM, or Math.

  • Ability to evaluate market conditions and various suppliers.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills with ability to work well under pressure.

  • Certification of Purchasing Management Association of Canada (PMAC) is preferred but not required.
